Lovely Atkin Dust Bowl 00014 inspired by classic design of the 1930’s ere guitars. A lightweight all-mahogany body construction, scalloped braces, and soft-V neck carve that hugs your hand. The 16″ radius Indian Rosewood fingerboard with rounded-over edges makes ‘thumb-overtop’ playing easy and comfortable.
This Atkin Dust Bowl 00014 has a full, rich and dry voice with enough of a push in the midrange to inspire any ragtime picker, while still giving plenty of warmth and openness across the strings to keep any player happy. It offers that ‘piano-like’ cavernous articulation in the bass end, and a sweet and well-rounded treble.
Alastair Atkin takes ‘vintage-inspired’ to the next level. The main inspiration for these guitars are the lightweight, characterful depression-era guitars of the 1930s – names such as Kalamazoo, Recording King, Cromwell, and Kel Kroyden will spring to mind for fans of such instruments. She is build with solid Mahogany with a lightweight scalloped bracing, giving the player a full, rich and dry voice that embodies those ever sought-after pre-war tones. Atkin’s OOO-14 is a classic embodiment of the ideas at play with a triple-O: small enough to be comfortable and articulate enough for finger-picking, yet big enough to deliver the projection and low end required for a well-rounded overall sound; especially important for strummed passages. A classic, vintage-inspired all-rounder. This guitar has been played and shows some minor dings and some light buckle rush on the back. Overall she’s is in excellent condition.
